We have seen that the tablets were the life of Consumer Electronic Show-CES 2011. More than 100 tablets were presented at the CES itself. Now in the upcoming event CTIA, tablets are going to be much closer to the present. Yes the time for tablet has come. Availability of hundreds of tablet and the gradual decrease in price results this gadget to be a common handheld. Not just that, they triangulate size, power, and mobility in a single unit. Obvious, the 2011’s motto goes in this way-no mobile life without a tablet.

1. Motorola XOOM
The tablet bagged whole the attention in the show and gained much popularity than any other handheld (except their own Atrix 4G- the smartphone has also won the attention of the show). The device is priced at 800$ off contract and 600$ with a two year contract with Verizon.
2.Blackberry Playbook
The tablet is neither Android nor a blackberry device. The leaner 7 inch sized( with a resolution of 1024 X 600 pixels) playbook is running on an impressive QNX powered OS resembles Palm’s underrated Web OS, on a 1 GHz dual core processor with a 1 GB DDR2 RAM support. The first tablet from the RIM (Research In Motion) is able to do multitasking in a higher level, allows quick swipes between applications and simultaneous play several applications. Other features include Wi-Fi, media buttons on the top, a 3MP front-facing camera and 5MP rear camera that both take 1080p HD video, a mini HDMI port, Micro USB, a magnetic charger, and 16-64GB of storage memory and you will get a 4G support for this tablet if you buy it through sprint. The 16 GB model is expected to be under the price tag of 500$. The 32 GB model and 48 GB model will cost around 600$ and 700$ respectively
3.Dell Streak
Well, everyone knows that when it comes the matter of computing Dell people are the market leaders but their 5 inch dell streak failed to get much attention when it hit AT&T last year. The company has come back with streak 7 inch and 10 inch model and it was one of the most happening tablets in CES 2011. The streaks currently run android 2. 2 Froyo on Nvidia’s Tegra 2 Dual core processor have an internal storage capacity of 16 GB. Both the streaks are capable of 4G network on T mobile. The Devices have three physical buttons on the bottom. It comes equipped with a rear facing camera of 5 MP and a front facing camera of 1. 3 MP, which is somewhat weaker compared to other tablets in the same range. The Dell streak comes with a bunch of applications preloaded including T-Mobile TV, BrainPOP, Zinio, Qik Video Chat, Blockbuster, Kindle for Android, Let’s Golf demo, Slacker Radio and Zoodles.Well it is disappointing that the tablet still runs the old android froyo instead of honeycomb dell has clarified that users can upgrade their operating system. Dell streak is available for 199$ on a two year contract or for 499$ without a contract from T mobile network.
4.Asus EEE Slate
If performance you are after then there is no doubt that which should be your option. The Intel core i5 packed 12. 1 inch Asus EEE Slate is a powerful machine than the rest of the line. The device has a memory of 4 GB with a storage capacity of 64 GB. The slate is likely to be marketed for business purpose as its wireless Bluetooth key board and multiple input options for creating contents suggest. I think the 12.1-inch IPS LCD panel screen (using the same technology as the iPad) mini HDMI out for viewing 1080P video, digitiser pen and 10-finger multi-touch support enough to whet your appetite. In addition, the tablet has Bluetooth 3.0 and b/g/n Wi-Fi connectivity, an SD card slot and a 2 MP camera exclusively for video chat. 5.Samsung Sliding PC 7 series
t’s been 3 years Samsung is trying to get a push in Tablet market, now their effort has bagged the attention in CES 2011 with their new Sliding PC 7 series. Well, idea of sliding tablet is an innovative one, this tablet-netbook hybrid running on windows 7. It boasts dual facing camera which is rare in common tablet netbook hybrid. The device is capable of booting in just 20 seconds (they claims so, we haven’t checked it till, sorry!). The device weighs 2. 2 pounds and powered by upcoming Intel Atom Oak tail processor and features a 2GB DDR2 RAM and a 32 or 64GB drive. The device features an HDMI port, 4 in 1 memory card reader and a 1. 3 MP webcam. Samsung claim the device has a battery life of 9 hours, which is a great deal and it is appeared to be true as its lithium battery powerful and highly sensitive light sensor which can adjust screen brightness according to available light. Samsung Siding PC 7 series expected to be launched with a price tag of 699$ for a single unit in this march.
My verdict : Now, You might have made your choice to go with one of the android tablets or with a hybrid kind of netbook tablet running windows or playbook blackberry. Well, my choice is Motorola Xoom for now as one the most anticipated android tablet.What is your pick then?
